It’s been over a week since the Ramadan Coffee therapy session at Showtime Bistro.
I promised to put up the handouts on the blog..I meant to put it up in a couple of days but was unable to because I’m trying to finish products for the Being ME bazaar. I;m selling some Ramadan Decor and Eid Gift items for my Mabrook Moments business Insha’Allah.
The event went well Alhamdulillah. Unfortunately the day before the Ramadan talk, I had a super busy day.
My parents and us siblings hosted a Sip n’ See for our brother and sister-in-law’s first child. Here are some pictures. Please keep baby Eesa and his parents in your duas.
The day of the Sip n’ See, I was on zero sleep. I wanted at least two hours but when my Fajr alarm went off I realized that I was just lying in bed fully awake. I managed to function semi-normally but on a social level I wasn’t great company. My blood-shot eyes and delayed responses probably scared the guests.
Oh well,at least the tea-sandwiches turned out..that’s all that matters right?
So back to my story.. on the drive to Showtime Bistro I was going over my talk with Shaheen and Fareheen (both of them are super eloquent public speakers by the way), I kept messing up and forgetting my points. I started freaking myself out. I mentally listed all the reasons why I was going to fail (yes I know not the smartest move).
I was a wee bit nervous (read freaking out and contemplating jumping out of a moving car so I wouldn’t have to talk) because the exhaustion from the day before left me like an unprepared zombie with a hangover.
I told myself it was just Shaytaan trying to prevent me from sharing the beneficial knowledge we had compiled. I read my duas, did deep breathing, and then hid in the washroom power posed for 2 minutes in the washroom. Remember my obsession with power posing? You can read about it here.
It was lovely meeting all the ladies that came. I hope this post explains why I was super weird- I’m usually not like this!
I had to have the Ferrero Rocher milk shake. Sooooo decadent! The staff at Showtime Bistro were really kind and generous.
Besides good food & friendly staff, a restaurant gets my seal of approval when they have a change table in the washroom and a place to pray (not in the washroom).
Insha’Allah will be back soon before Ramadan.
Oh yeah, Ramadan. I should attach the handouts as promised and the videos I referred to.
