Lately I’ve been contemplating starting my own business. I want this business to: be something I enjoy, make me some money, be something I can handle while being a stay at home mom and most importantly serve as an investment in my Akhira (the Hereafter).
I decided to merge the concept of Sadaqa Jaariyyah (everlasting good deeds) with my love of giving unique and personalized gifts to my family and friends. I started creating gifts and home decor with a purpose.
I took a leap of faith, spent lots and lots of money and decided to turn my dreams into reality!
I’m launching home décor and gifts that are not only beautiful, but remind you of your purpose in life- to worship Allah. Whether you buy it for yourself or as a gift, a chain reaction of good deeds will occur: Insha’Allah you will remember Allah and earn good deeds; every time someone sees it at your home and remembers Allah you will earn good deeds and so will I since that was my intention behind making it!
Make sure you stop by the Salam Shop booths (1200-1210) at the RIS Bazaar this weekend.
I’ll be giving you sneak peaks of my items over social media for the next few days. I know, I know I should have been advertising sooner- gimme a break, I’m new at this business business!
Please make tons of duah for me, I’m crazy excited and nervous all at the same time! I keep telling myself that I have good intentions and have been working hard so Insha’Allah the fruits of hard work are never lost.
Still, I can’t help but worry. I’ll probably stalk the booth the whole time watching if anyone’s buying my products (do a halal happy dance) or not (contemplate bankruptcy). Weekend of emotional roller coaster here I come!
