Feeling like a Ramadan Loser?

While stuffing my face at an Iftaar party yesterday, I came to the realization that the last 10 nights of Ramadan started that very night!

Ramadan Loser

Ramadan Loser

Yes, this Ramadan has not been one of the best ones unfortunately BUT it doesn’t mean I am destined be in the Ramadan loser category either! It ain’t over ’til it’s over. This is the final stretch and I can still finish off with tons of good deeds and have my sins forgiven.

A Ramadan Loser is someone who after this Holy month is over, is just as sinful as he/she was before it began and has not improved for the better at all.

Ramadan is supposed to be like a Professional Development or refresher course on how to ‘Muslim’. Allah locks up the devils and incites us to do more good deeds by multiplying the rewards 70 times.  ‘No shaytaan’ equals minimal sinning and multiplication of good deeds is supposed to help you rack up the rewards easily. Most importantly, this is the time when you’re supposed to re-learn the Qur’an and teach it to the rest of humanity (Not just Muslims).

Considering AllahSWT has set up the game in your favour, are you still going to end up losing?

Absolutely not!

This professional procrastinator has THE ultimate Ibadah hack list for anyone who has 10 minutes, $20 and a desire to earn good deeds.

ULTIMATE IBADAH HACK !

Don't be A Ramadan Loser during these last 10 nights

Don’t be A Ramadan Loser during these last 10 nights

The Night of Power, Laylatul Qadr, the Night Equivalent to 1000 months (84 years) is going to be one of the next nine nights. Yes I know it will be an odd night, most likely the 27th night etcetera, etcetera  BUT you don’t know for sure and the risk of missing it is SO great that let’s focus on every night.  If you’re one of the people who has been more of a bench warmer than an MVP during this month so far, then you need to treat every night like it may be Laylatul Qadr.

Every night anytime after opening your fast (Maghreb until Fajr) starting tonight do the following :

(well should have been since yesterday..but lets not talk about the loser days, we are winners now remember?)

    1) Give charity.

International Development and Relief Foundation

International Development and Relief Foundation

What’s the  most you’re willing to give? Divide it by 9 and pay that amount every single night. This year I am donating to  IDRF. It is one of the few registered charities that successfully operate within Gaza  . May Allah SWT have mercy on our brothers and sisters all over the world. Ameen

Example: $20

20/9=$2.22

$2.22 X (365x 84)=$68,126.52

Just by donating $20 in total, you will get the reward of donating $68,126.52 MINIMUM!!!! Let’s not forget the remaining $17.88 you donated over the other 8 days that will be multiplied by at least 70 ! (It’s a hot Sunday afternoon and I’m in no mood to do the math; let’s just say it’s A LOT) Now add a zero to the $20,..Subhan Allah $200 of charity (which is probably less than the Zakah most of us owe) will equal $681 333.00!!!

2)  Pray one extra prayer.

Pray 2 rakahs of nawafal salah every night. It will be as if you prayed nawafal everyday for 84 years.

3) Read Surah Ikhlas three times.

The REWARD for reading surah Ikhlas three times is equivalent to reading the entire Quran!! You will get the reward of reading the entire Quran everyday for 84 years!!

Note: it doesn’t replace reading the entire Quran. Read here for an in depth explanation.

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Surah Ikhlas

Surah Ikhlas

1.    Qul huwal laahu ahad

2.    Allah hus-samad

3.    Lam yalid wa lam yoolad

4.    Wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad

4) Read the dua for Forgiveness.

اللهمَّ انَّكَ عَفُوٌ تُحبُّ العفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنَّا

Allahumma innaka `afuwun tuhibbu-l’`afwa f`afwa `anna

“O Allah, truly You are all-Pardoning, You love to pardon so pardon us” (3 times).

You will be rewarded as if you asked Allahs to pardon ALL of your sins everyday for 84 years!

Pardon is greater than forgiveness. To have your sins pardoned is to have it completely erased from your accounts!

5) Earn a billion deeds in under a minute.

Billion Muslims

Billion Muslims

When you make duah for Allah to forgive another Muslim, Allah SWT will write good deeds in your favour!

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever seeks forgiveness for believing men and believing woman, Allah will write for him a good deed for each believing man and believing woman.” [Tabarani]

Alhamdulillah there are over a billion Muslims on earth. Ask Allah SWT to  forgive each and every one of them and the billions of good deeds are yours!

Just take a moment to reflect HOW easy Allah SWT makes it for us to earn good deeds. He loves us more than we can ever comprehend. It’s unfortunate most of us grew up with the ideology of a damning god. Simply by learning Allah’s names, we will get to know the Real God. Check out this article here for more information. Allah is Al-Wadud ( the Most Loving),  Ar Rehman (The Most Merciful ), Ar Rahim (The Most Kind). We should all make sujood just to thank Him for giving mankind this month of Mercy, for allowing us to be alive to experience its virtues and for loving us so  much that He made it crazy easy to earn so many good deeds .

I love each and every one of you for the sake of Allah. I pray that He forgives all of your sins, I pray that He answers all of your duas and that you truly understand and believe His love for you.

Please, please please keep me and my family in your duas.

Great list. I’d like to add one too. Recite surah Ikhlas 10x and you get a house in Jannah. So that would equal 84 houses (in addition to 3 Qurans).

Jazak Allahu Khairun for the awesome tip. I implemented it right away! Many people are skeptical about the reward associated with reading Surah Ikhlas- I believe it’s because they don’t know Allah. Some things seem too good to be true for us when we don’t understand how Loving, Generous and Merciful Allah is. May Allah swt accept our Ibadah and make next Ramadan even better. Have an awesome Eid!
