Salaamz dear readers!
I’m super excited to share today’s post- FREE PRINTABLES …wooohooo!!!
As I mentioned before I love paper and stationary and upcycling and saving money..so I am sharing a DIY project that encompasses all of those things.
I have a quick solution for when you need a beautiful Aqiqah card and all you can find is Birthday cards..what to do?
Make your own!
I always buy generic empty cards & envelopes that come in sets of 8 at Michaels. I leave them in the glove compartment of our car- I cant explain to you the number of times it has helped us out! Be it weddings, house warmings, Aqiqahs…those blank cards saved us so much money ( The average card is $5 these days- I usually spend no more than $3 on a pack of 8 cards) .
Since chalkboard art is all the rage these days I thought most of you would like these designs. I had so much fun playing around with the different fonts and dingbats (look at me..I can speak geek!)
Ok so this post was all set to be published 4 days ago..but then I started playing around with Photoshop..kept telling myself ‘just one more‘…now you have 4 cards to choose from. You’re Welcome!
Anyone else addicted to Photoshop? Without a bit of exaggeration I can honestly say I can spend hours on Photoshop and it’ll feel like minutes!
Back to the cards…
For the message I chose a fun childish font for the Bismillah-isn’t it so cute?.
I couldn’t find a specific dua for when a baby is born but I did come across this one:
Sayyiduna Hasan al-Basri (Allah be pleased with him) advised a man to supplicate with the following words when congratulating new parents:
بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِي الـمَوْهُوبِ لَكَ، وَشَكَرْتَ الوَاهِبَ، وبَلَغَ أشُدَّهُ، وَرُزِقْتَ بِرَّهُ
“May Allah bless you in His gift to you, may you give thanks to the giver of this gift, may the child reach the maturity of years, and may you be granted its righteousness.”
That’s the message I used for the inner portion of the card.
Here they are!
I’ve created four free printables for you. All you have to do is:
- Download the free diy aqiqah printable by clicking on the document links above
- Open & print it on normal printing paper
- Cut out the two rectangle pieces
- Choose your card paper: thicker paper works better.
- Paste the Aqiqah Mubarak picture to the front of your card
- Paste the message picture to the inside of your card on the left flap
ONE: Construction/poster paper- you can make a nice border by making a card larger than the print out
TWO: Generic store bought cards that often come 8 in a pack with envelopes (you can even find them at the dollar store!) This is what I did for this tutorial
THREE: Upcycle: Use an old card in good condition and paste the printed pages over it.
I hope you love the free printables and find them very useful.
I would love to hear about it if you end up using them!
What do you guys think of the designs? What type of Aqiqah cards would you like to see?
