How’s everyone enjoying the cold weather? Can you believe it, the years almost over.
This is the last post in the 10 things I learned in 10 years of marriage series. I hope my 10 years of experience through trial ad error and a whole lot of research has been beneficial for you guys.
I’d like to point out that these are things I learned, not necessarily something I implement everyday; I have my good days and my bad days..
The plan was to share my knowledge while creating accountability for myself. I cant explain to you the number of times my husband has used these recent posts against me!

I didn’t sleep last night- it was one of those ‘point of no return’ instances where I was up so late that if I went to bed I wouldn’t wake up for Suhoor.
Why was I up so late?
I was making these beautiful babies (special shout out to Anum and my mother in law for helping out with the assembly).

Last year I had THE BEST RAMADAN OF MY LIFE- I had the energy and motivation to attain my spiritual goals (unfortunately that never used to happen before)! Through the Grace of Allah SWT it was largely due to the fact that I had re-vamped my eating habits.
The saying ‘you are what you eat’ is actually true! I was fresh, healthy and full of energy.

New Hijabi Welcome
Masha’Allah lately I’ve been hearing about so many sisters starting to wear hijab. I am so proud of them! It’s not easy to start wearing hijab; especially not within the current political climate (#harperfashionpolice, #DressCodepm).
Though hijab is a very important part of Islam, I feel it gets too much attention. Even though praying, fasting, and giving in charity are ranked higher in terms of basic requirements for being considered a Muslim, we seem to define people’s religiosity by whether they wear hijab or not. I guess this is because hijab is the most visible part of worship, this also makes it one of the most debated and difficult decisions. (more…)
